AIBS HOMER Kit – A Smart Way to Domestic and Industrial Automation

Existing custom developed home automation solutions are highly expensive and is beyond the reach of a common man. AIBS Homer is a compact IoT module when integrated into an existing switchboard can turn the current dump switchboards onto a smart switch board. It is so ergonomically designed that retrofitting the same is easy and can be done in minimal amount of time. This empowers the users to control the appliances from their smart phones from anywhere over the web. Over and above Homer also extracts accurate individual appliance level power readings.

Homer comes in two variants

Homer Lite

Module can fit inside existing switch boards and manage equipment that consumes up to 5A. It is best suited to control your fan, TV and lights. Each Homer Lite module can support up to a maximum of 8 devices but is modular in design and hence can be customized according to ones needs to manage and control lesser number of devices.

Homer HiFi

A wireless module to control devices that consumes up to 25A. It is ideal for air conditioners and water pumps. Module helps to control the appliances remotely but also measures its actual power consumption.

How it works?

Homer modules can either use Wi-Fi or ZigBee to communicate wireless. In case of Wi-Fi based modules then it uses existing Wi-Fi backbone and forms the network. If ZigBee wireless radio is preferred, then a Zigbee backbone network need to be formed. This will comprise of Zigbee routers and Gateway module. AGway is an AIBS developed light weight IoT gateway module will act as the central hub which hosts the Homer application and control software modules. It also controls the secure traffic into and out of the IoT network. It can be connected to the existing network or can use its built in eSIM or GSM capability to connect to the internet.
